About April Ewing
In November of 2023, I lost my sister. She was young, vibrant, and full of life, and her presence shaped who I am more than she ever realized. She believed deeply in my imagination and my ability to create, even when I doubted myself. She was the one who reminded me that the ideas in my mind were not random thoughts, but blueprints meant to be built.
With her encouragement, I was able to solidify my first patent in public safety. She taught me that innovation is not just about technology, but about responsibility. When we see a problem clearly, we have a responsibility to respond with intention and care. Losing her changed the way I see the world, but it also clarified my purpose within it.
I am a deeply curious, multi-faceted creator. I live at the intersection of imagination, technology, intuition, and strategy. I am drawn to building things that do not yet exist, especially when those things have the power to protect, empower, or restore dignity. I believe that innovation should feel human, not cold, and that technology should work quietly in service of our lives, not demand our attention or surveillance.
Each year, nearly a quarter of a million women and teenage girls are reported missing in the United States. Many of them are disproportionately Black, Indigenous, and from marginalized communities. This reality extends far beyond U.S. borders and reflects a global pattern of women being overlooked, dismissed, or forgotten. For generations, women have spoken up about the ways our bodies, labor, and safety are exploited. Real change happens when those voices are amplified together.
SheHerd was born from this understanding. It is not just an app or a device, but an ecosystem of safety supported by community. SheHerd is designed to help women protect one another through connection, prevention, and collective care. While women are powerful individually, we are exponentially stronger when we move together.
You may be navigating the world feeling unsupported, hyper-vigilant, or uncertain about what lies ahead. You deserve more than survival. You deserve to live freely, creatively, and without fear. SheHerd exists to remind you that you are not alone, and that safety can be shared.
If you are ready to take that stride toward freedom, toward trust, and toward collective strength, I invite you to join the herd. Live boldly. Live freely.
